Modalidad epistémica y evidencialidad. Problemas y propuesta

Resumen
Tras varias décadas de investigación sobre la modalidad epistémica y la evidencialidad, un problema todavía presente en la bibliografía es la falta de consenso sobre cómo definir estas categorías como fenómenos lingüísticos y, como consecuencia, los términos modalidad epistémica y evidencialidad han venido empleándose para referirse a las realidades lingüísticas divergentes por cada investigador. Este trabajo trata de aclarar las confusiones conceptuales y terminológicas persistentes respecto a la modalidad epistémica y la evidencialidad a partir de una reflexión interlingüística basada en una revisión general de propuestas previas y de datos empíricos documentados en diferentes lenguas. También cuestionamos la categorización de la evidencialidad como modal y proponemos considerarla una categoría actitudinal junto con la modalidad epistémica. Como resultado, el trabajo aportará una base teórica general de las categorías en cuestión para su aplicación a las lenguas particulares.
