Convivir con el dolor crónico: el uso de metáforas conceptuales como recurso de construcción de afecto en relatos de pacientes de endometriosis

Resumen

Este artículo se enfoca en identificar y analizar las metáforas conceptuales que codifican afecto en los relatos de pacientes chilenas con endometriosis, examinando su impacto en la percepción y manejo de la enfermedad. A través de la Lingüística Sistémico Funcional y la Teoría de la Metáfora Conceptual, se analizaron 30 entrevistas con mujeres diagnosticadas. Se encontró un uso extensivo de lenguaje metafórico y afectivo, identificando 196 instancias de metáforas que codifican aspectos emocionales de la endometriosis. Estos resultados subrayan la importancia del lenguaje metafórico en la estructuración de experiencias de las pacientes, ofreciendo una comprensión profunda sobre cómo entienden y abordan su condición, y proporcionando una perspectiva valiosa sobre el manejo emocional de esta compleja enfermedad.
