Plurality and ambivalence in Chilean literary metatextuality

Abstract
This paper studies the principal self-freflexive texts of the Chilean writers from the generation of 1842, chosen and ordered by José Promis. It analyzes the concepts referred to the character of the literature (homogeneous, plural or ambivalent) and proposes the existence of three different ways, nationalist; universalist or internationalist, and intercultural or hybrid.
