Abstract

This paper analyzes morphological procedures of derivation and determines the differentiated existence of denotative and connotative prefixation, suffixation and preffix-suffixation. The generic information that the literature offers on the subject is widened. On the basis of the semantic analysis proposed by Pottier, the connotative affixation is identified and isolated. This process produces derived connotative words from the known denotative affixation which produces denotative derived words.
