Abstract

The Educating Cities, under the scope of the International Association of Educating Cities (AICE) and the Charter of Educating Cities (2020), assume as a permanent challenge the integral formation of their inhabitants and recognize, promote and exercise an educating role in their lives. Addressing the theme “Educating City” refers to the search for its history, its principles, its forms of adherence and performance, as well as those responsible for it. This article, which has an essay content, raises questions about the possibilities of adding to this theme the pedagogical dimension intrinsic to tourism, contemplating conceptual and pragmatic developments within the Brazilian context.
