Abstract

This paper argues that during the campaign of half a liter of milk, the National Health Service (Servicio Nacional de Salud, SNS) sought to standardize maternal care at the service of the revolutionary project of the Popular Unity. From the review of institutional documents of the SNS, magazines such as La Firme, Cabrochico and Paloma, as well as interviews with beneficiary mothers and daughters, it is inferred that the SNS administered a milk plan that considered mothers as the main body responsible for the health of children.
