Countermemory and subcultural resistance in the exhibition Ander: Cultural resistance in El Trolley and Matucana 19

Abstract
This text takes as an object of interrogation the exhibition Ander: Cultural Resistance in El Trolley and Matucana 19, developed at the end of 2022 at the National Museum of Fine Arts (Chile), which is analyzed from two angles: its contribution to the construction of collective memory about a little-recognized dimension of the cultural production of the dictatorial period, and the subcultural and youthful character of the expressions that shaped what happened in these underground spaces of the capital. Based on the concepts of countermemory and subculture, articulated with the concept of resistance, it is concluded that curatorship is an exercise capable of bringing silenced practices and discourses to the space of public recognition, which would have a potential impact on the representation of collective memory about the Chilean dictatorship and the processes of subjectivation of the new generations.
