Abstract

This research analyses the use of news-media apps on smartphones by students and teachers of secondary education for curriculum development in different subjects. We present a case study in which through a quantitative methodology, we study the major variables affecting the educational and social development of smartphones usage in education from a socio-educational and informative perspective. The results show how the XXI century school should integrate and not exclude the use of these devices in a contextualized and integrated way, which allows a comprehensive development of social and audiovisual competences in students.
