Interculturality and public policies in education. Ideas from Santiago, Chile

Abstract
From Santiago, Chile, the results of ten years of public policies destined to materialize the Intercultural Bilingual Education in the city are observed, analyzed and questioned. With an historical view of the indigenous education in the continent, the originality of the urban space like a scope of intervention in interculturality is hefted, and the development of this education in the country is examined, extracting conclusions, as questions, that help to feel the theoretical and practical limits that the construction of the interculturality in the latinamerican societies presents.
