Main Article Content
Abstract
In this Educational Action Project (culmination work of the course as one of the requirements to obtain the degree in Pedagogy at the Salesian University Center of São Paulo), a careful study was carried out for the restructuring of the “Projeto Raízes” (Roots’ Project) through the analysis of the teaching of history in the formal school environment, inspired by Popular Education and local heritage, seeking to preserve historical memory and the feeling of belonging to space, a concept remembered in geography. The methodology used is based on the proposal of Oscar Jara (2006), from which the experiences of historical itineraries in the city of Americana-SP, Brazil were systematized. The results point to the need to understand the continuous transformation within society, in which the rescue of historical memory must be constant in order to form leading subjects and readers of the world through heritage.
