Abstract

The present study aims to identify the relationship between personality traits, strategies and learning styles, and their influence on academic performance. A sample of 47 students between the ages of 13 and 14 from a Spanish educational center was selected and the BFQ-NA (personality traits), CHAEA (learning styles) and ACRA (learning strategies) questionnaires were applied.

Among the results it is highlighted that in the total sample the personality trait that predominates most is extraversion, the pragmatic learning style and acquisition strategies. There is a positive and significant relationship between the variables personality, learning styles and strategies and academic performance, giving greater relationship between the responsibility dimension, the style of reflective learning and acquisition strategies. The dimensions that predict academic performance are responsibility, reflective learning style and a general use of learning strategies.
