The explicit teaching in current didactic discussion
Main Article Content
Abstract
Based on a review of the international literature, this paper aims to characterize what is usually termed “explicit teaching”. An analysis of the way in which this teaching model is described in the field of empirical research on classroom practices was carried out. The purpose is to study the ways in which explicit teaching is specified in real practices that express, in a probabilistic and variable way, the conceptual formalizations of the didactic model. This work is driven by the concern about educational inequality and the search for possible answers from the point of view of teaching practices. In this framework, the conceptual delimitation of these didactic formats and of the place they hold in the educational debate about how to promote significant improvements in learning outcomes in Latin America becomes relevant.
