Instructional Leadership in technical-pedagogical leadership of educational establishments in Chile

Abstract

The objective of the study was to describe the instructional leadership of professional teachers who are technical- pedagogical directors in Chilean educational institutions through the application of the Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS). The results show significant relationships in the dimensions related to a focus on areas related to external evaluation. A difference is established between establishments categorized with a higher performance by the Education Quality Agency. The results of this study are key to advance in a proposal of middle leadership that dialogues with the needs of training for learning at an integral level and not only based on the measurement sustained by means of accountability.
