Gender as a pending subject in the progress of service-learning linked to physical activity
Main Article Content
Abstract
The social impact of introducing a gender perspective into physical activity and service-learning is gaining attention. By tackling gender discrimination and exclusion in sports projects, this attempts to increase student involvement and social engagement. Despite the exponential surge in studies linking physical activity and service-learning, scientific output from a gender perspective is insufficient. The background and evolution of these topics were investigated utilizing a documentary analysis and a PRISMA-based systematic review. As a result, just one study that worked from a unified approach was identified. This lack of a multidisciplinary approach raises concerns about physical activity and sports science instructors’ preparation in terms of promoting gender equality and social justice.
