Abstract

The project “Food Laboratory: Mobile Research Kitchen in Design” from Diego Portales University innovates in teaching methodology in Industrial Design education. The project is based on the need to rethink the teaching and learning process around Celebration Design and Festive Banquets, incorporating Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Discovery Learning (DL) methodologies. Fifty-six students participate, developing skills in observation, research, design, and construction related to Celebration Design and gastronomy. To measure the impact of the formative experience, evaluations of learning outcomes and competencies have been conducted, demonstrating a positive impact on the educational process. The project aims to enrich students’ education, preparing them for comprehensive projects, research, experimentation, and innovation. It also promotes collaboration, selfmanagement, and sustainable development.
